Scott Rudolph

I grew up in San Jose, where I was raised in a Christian home. I am married to Carissa Rudolph and we currently live at the south-end of San Jose.

Baseball (and sports) have always been a big part of my life. I competed as a collegiate pitcher at West Valley College and then at the University of William Penn (in Oskaloosa, Iowa) for one year. I then returned to the Bay Area where I obtained my Bachelor’s of Arts in Communication Studies from San Jose State University. Then I moved on to graduate school where I obtained my Education Specialist Credential. I’ve now been teaching students with special needs for the past 3 years, and God has taught me so much about his grace in this wild career. He has really been using my past experiences as a refining tool in my life.

I currently disciple 4 younger men and have the opportunity to see them grow more into the likeness of Jesus every week. Tim Reilly (Lead Pastor) disciples me weekly, and that’s really helped me gain a true balance of getting poured into and really pouring out that wisdom unto our youth at Church of the Valley as the Youth Director.

At Regeneration (Church of the Valley’s youth group), I teach the students to not just read the Bible, but actually do what it says (James 1:22). I encourage the students to ask questions and wrestle with their faith, so that they can be equipped with an answer to the “why” behind what they believe, before heading off to the wild world of college (and/or their career). Above all, Jesus is the purpose of my life and that’s where I find my identity.
