Regeneration Youth Ministry
Regeneration is a ministry focused on growing our youth (and leaders) more into the likeness of Jesus.
Our ministry includes 6th - 12th grade students, primarily derived from the Santa Clara and San Jose regions. It is our mission to equip our youth with answers as to why they believe what they believe. Regeneration is also predicated on Jesus’ command to “go and make disciples of all nations...” (Matt. 28:19).
We want to:
- grow disciples who will go and disciple others
- equip them to read the Bible and obey what it says
- teach them to hear God’s voice
- show them how to pour out the gifts, time, and energy that God’s blessed them with, in order to make much of His kingdom here on earth.
DETAILS FOR GATHERINGS
Youth Events will be once a month for 6th-12th grade youth.
Our Youth Director
Scott Rudolph is a Bay Area native that grew up in a Christian home and school (Achiever Christian School at Church on the Hill). He attended, and was baptized at, South Hills Community Church (which is now Westgate South Hills), where he was discipled by some great youth leaders. His experience in youth ministry as a student was so fond that he wants to pay forward/pour out that same experience for our youth today at Church of the Valley. Scott has been getting discipled by Church of the Valley’s lead pastor, Tim Reilly, for about 2 years now. He stated that “meeting with Tim has really helped me grow a lot in my faith, but it wasn’t until I started pouring out into others that I began to experience exponential growth in my walk with Jesus”.
He now meets and teaches the Bible to 4 different young adults on a weekly basis. Scott also enjoys spending time with these 4 guys, and just “doing life with them”, just as Jesus lived and broke bread with His disciples regularly.
Scott is married to Carissa Rudolph (a Santa Clara native and Santa Clara High School alum).
In addition to being the Youth Director at Church of the Valley, Scott is also a special education teacher at Bret Harte middle school (and has been for the past 3 years). He has a heart for our disabled youth and wants to open Church of the Valley’s Regeneration Youth Group to all students (able bodied and disabled). “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Matt. 25-40).
“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
