“Dedicate” - Set aside or commit to a sacred purpose


At COV, dedication is not baptism. The practice of dedication is an act for parents more than it is for the child or children. The purpose of dedication is to celebrate the child, joyfully thanking God for their addition to the family and the church community. It’s also an opportunity for parents to commit themselves to raising their child in the nurture and love of the Lord and for the church to pray and encourage them in their parental responsibility of discipleship.
